After waiting endlessly for more than two months, the much-anticipated Arise Africa Magazine Fashion Week has released its schedule of events. The schedule will be your guide for the fashion festival which kicks off on Thursday, March 10, 2011 and ends on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at the Tents, Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos.
Pundits are saying this will be the biggest fashion festival yet on the continent, as more than 50 different talented African designers will storm Lagos for a week that incorporates exhibitions, fashion shows, talkshops, performances and awards.
The Arise Magazine Fashion Week will open officially with a conference tagged ‘Business of Fashion’ and close with an awards ceremony including a final runway show by Black Coffee and a musical performance by Tinie Tempah.
The event will definitely remind you of the Paris Fashion Week, the New York Fashion Week or any international fashion shows of the calibre , as there will be a different mix of creative works on display from celebrated African designers such as Deola Sagoe, Tiffany Amber, Alexander Amosu, Anne Marie Addo (Ghana), Ron N Ron (US) and a host of other international African designers.
Here is the full schedule for the event, so get prepared to enjoy the exclusive African fashion event on the African soil!
