The second edition of the quarterly Charity Lounge will hold on Saturday, May 26, 2012.
This year’s theme is ‘Fantastic Four’, as it features four individuals and four initiatives that will be inducted into the humanitarian hall of fame. TOrganisers say the four individuals are Innocent ‘2face’ Idibia, Julius Agwu, Funmi Iyanda and Stella Damasus; and the initiatives are ‘The Future Project’, ‘Bake for Change’, ‘Lamboginny Say No to Crime’ and ‘Save Laura Campaign’.
According to Chaste Inegbedion, Community Relations Specialist of Creative Five World, ‘Charity Lounge Lagos is dedicated to creating innovative ways such as the Cancel Cancer Campaign, hall of fame and charity begins at home initiatives to engage Nigerians and the rest of the international community to secure sponsorships for charities and working with organizations in giving back to their community‘.
The first edition was held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 in Mushin, Lagos. It was tagged ‘Charity Begins at Home’. Celebrities like Ronke Apampa, Micheal Collins (Don Jazzy) and Tosyn Bucknor were iducted into the Hall of fame for their contributions to charity.
According to Wale Ewedemi, DG, Creative Entrepreneurs Association, ‘the initiative is the birth of a New Nation in community service. Corporate bodies in Nigeria and Philanthropists should throw their weight behind such a laudable project.’
