South African award winning music duo, Makifizolo is no doubt among the group of artistes that have the African continent proud.
They have taken their music to other parts of the world, received several recognitions for the super content they put out for their fans and are currently rated among the best music groups in Africa.
But below are 10 important things you should know about Mafikizolo…
1. Mafikizolo is South African music group that was formed in the 1990s. The members of this group were Theo Kgosinkwe, Nhlanhla Nciza, and Tebogo Madingoane
2. The genre of music this group makes is called Kwaito, which is an African genre.
3. In 1997, they released a self-titled debut album, Mafikizolo.
4. On February 14, 2004, one of the male singers, Tebogo Madingoane was shot after a heated argument with another driver in traffic.
5. In 2008, the duo decided to take a break from the group, pursue their solo career, with Theo releasing an album, I am while Nciza released two albums – Inguquko (Change) and Lingcinga Zam (My Thoughts).
6. In 2010, the duo decided to reunite in order to be more recognised as their fans have known them as Mafikizolo.
7. They have performed in Nigeria not less than seven times, although not really at big events.
8. Mafikizolo has only collaborated with two Nigeria singers, Davido and May D.
9. They have eight constructive albums so far, a proof of their success in music.
10. In 2014, Mafikizolo won eight accolades at different awards ceremonies.
