Perhaps nothing attests to success more than the situation where the spontaneous feedback from the majority of the guests at an event comes in form of the question: “When and where is the next one taking place?”

The inaugural Transformers Youth Development Initiative event tagged “Take the Future: Youth Participation in Governance Seminar delivered more than it promised to the packed house of youth resident in the Isolo axis of Lagos state on Thursday, March 22, 2018.

Event host, Sabbathi upheld the “ladies first” ethos by bringing on Cynthia Yinkere of womeninpoliticsng to set the ball rolling. An interactive session anchored by Sabbathi and Efe Omorogbe helped to put things in perspective and prepare the guests for the meat of the session.

Convener and founder, Transformers Youth Development Initiative, the resplendent Helen Emoh Abutu, then took the stage to formally welcome the guests, sell the TYDI vision and invite the facilitators – music producer, Gospel on the Beatz; executive director, EiE Group, Yemi Adamolekun; country technical  sales manager, Energy Control Systems (West Africa), Michael Mbey; creative entrepreneur and development enthusiast, Efe Omorogbe and pop legend and keynote speaker, 2Baba.

Leila’s Place, Isolo, Lagos, the venue for the event was filled to capacity with a cross-section of youth who were giving a new perspective about politics and the need to actively participate in order to secure their future.

Two lucky guests – Blessing and Isreal – who participated in a mock election went home with gifts, cash prizes from Now Muzik and EiE while the winner also got an all-expense paid dinner with 2Baba.

During his keynote speech, 2Baba who is highly influential among the youth urged them to join the political process by registering with a political party of their choice, voting and speaking up when things are not right.
