Zayn Malik, who quit One Direction in March to go solo, is reportedly looking to try his hand at film making and has already entered into discussions with Bend It Like Beckham director, Gurinder Chadha.
55-year-old Gurinder told the Daily Mirror newspaper: ‘We’ve met and spoken. He trained as an actor first, then became part of the band.’
‘So I think what he’ll be doing is staying true to his heart – and that’s all you can ever do.’
Gurinder, who is currently working on Bollywood-inspired ‘Bend It Like Beckham: The Musical’, insists she doesn’t have a role planned out for the star ‘just yet.’
The 22-year-old singer recently confessed to being a huge fan of Bollywood movies and admitted he’s always been a ‘lover boy’ and able to charm the ladies; thanks to growing up watching his favourite film, ‘Bombay.’
