The first draw of the 2014 World Cup, a goalless one, was provided by the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Iran as both teams served up a boring group stage match to the residents of Curitiba and the entire world on Monday night, June 16, 2014.
The reigning African champions failed to seize the opportunity to earn for themselves three points against the Asian side ahead of two tough Group F stage matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina and tournament favourites Argentina.
Nigeria has not advanced from the group stage at the World Cup finals since 1998 where they beat Spain and Bulgaria to later lose to Denmark in the round of 16.
Nigeria and Iran currently share a point each. Argentina is in the lead with three points and Bosnia and Herzegovina at the bottom of the group with zero
Nigeria will face Bosnia and Herzegovina on Saturday, June 21 at the Arena Pantanal stadium, Cuiabá.
