Cameroon’s captain Samuel Eto’o will not be playing in his country’s match against Croatia in the World Cup.
The Indomitable Lions striker’s knee injury has kept him on the sidelines since the team’s 0-1 defeat to Mexico in their opening game. The Chelsea FC star confirmed the news on his official social media accounts, saying:
‘Doctors confirmed! I probably will not take part in the match against Croatia scheduled for Wednesday, June 18 at the Arena Amazonia in Manaus. I am sorry! A knee injury causes me much concern. ‘But do not worry too much about it. I trust ALL our Lions. We will make a powerful match. I pray for it! Let’s be hopeful … We’re still together. Go the Indomitable Lions!’
Cameroon’s head coach, Volker Finke is undoubtedly hoping for a better score line when his team takes on Croatia on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, while also hoping to have his captain fully fit to play against the host country Brazil on Wednesday, June 23, 2014
