USA and Portugal have settled for one point each in their second World Cup match.
The match, played on Sunday, June 22, 2014, at the Arena Amazonia, Manaus, had both teams recording four goals to ensure the score ended level between both sides.
Luis Nani gave Portugal the lead early in the first half only for Jermaine Jones and the fastest scorer of the World cup tournament so far, Clint Dempsey to forcibly roll ahead two goals to keep the Americans on the safe side. Varela netted nearly five minutes into stoppage time to salvage a draw for Portugal.
The Americans now have four points in Group G after their first victory against Ghana, while Portugal have one point, following their first defeat to Germany. USA will face Germany in their last group stage match, while Portugal will face Ghana.
The clashes between the teams will decide which two countries will progress to the next round.
