
Fatai Rolling Dollar was the oldest living Nigerian music star before his death on June 12, 2013 at the age of 85.
The Highlife veteran passed on at about 9am at the Marritol Medical Center in Surulere, Lagos where he had been receiving treatment for cancer related illness.

His body was laid to rest at his residence in Ikorodu, Lagos on June 13, 2013.

Today marks the fourth death anniversary of Fatai Olayiwola Olagunju who was survived by three wives and 16 children.
As a singer and guitarist, Rolling Dollar inspired a lot of young and old musicians that includes Ebenezer Obey, late Orlando Owoh and Ade Bantu among others.

Obey described him as ‘a mentor to many and musician to the core,’ while singer and actor Banky W branded the late musician the ‘original pioneer of the hat-look.’

The way FRD made people happy and touched lives with his music is one of the things people have missed about him.

His major hit songs include ‘She Go Run Away’, ‘Ori Wa A Dara’, ‘Sisi Jaiye Jaiye’, and ‘Won Kere Si Number Wa’.
