American’s Gertrude Weaver, who became the world’s oldest person on April 1, 2015 following the death of Japan’s Misao Okawa who died at the age of 117, has died.
Gertrude was pronounced dead on Monday, April 6, 2015. The Arkansas native, who was born in July 4, 1898 and worked as a domestic helper, died as a result of complications pneumonia
According to reports quoting staff at Silver Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center in Camden, US, where she was a resident. Ms. Weaver’s biggest dream was to see President Barack Obama attend her 117th birthday which would have been on Saturday, July 4, 2015.
