Nigerian music star, Wizkid has hinted that he will be going on a tour with Davido at the end of his ‘More Love Less Ego’ tour scheduled to kick off in February 2023 in the United Kingdom and making stops across the U.S and Canada in March.
Wizkid dropped the hint on his Instagram story on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, three days after winning the Best Act in West Africa award at AFRIMA on Sunday, January 15, 2023.
“After my MLLE tour!! Davido and I going on tour! Save your coins I no one hear pim!! Wizkid wrote.
Although the two stars have shared a stage together in the past, they have never collaborated to produce a song.
With Wizkid’s hint of a tour on Wednesday, fans are now hoping that the Wizkid and Davido tour will birth the highly anticipated collaboration from the two stars.
“On my collaboration with Wizkid, I feel like if it will happen, it will happen naturally,” Davido told SoundcityFM in 2018 while addressing why he does not have a collabo with Wizkid. “If we plan it, we might not do our best. Whenever the time is right, it will happen.”
Davido and Wizkid presently command a cult-like following among music fans with their fans – FC (Wizkid) and 30BG (Davido) constantly at loggerheads on social media. It is left to be seen if the promised Wizkid and Davido tour will pacify the two fandoms.
In 2022, 30BG – Davido’s fandom, defeated FC, Wizkid’s fandom to win the Net Honours Class of 2022 most popular music fandom.
30BG fiercely trailed by FC, pulled an impressive 38.1% of the over 21,000 votes in the category, while FC amassed 32.4%. Other fandoms – Simi Army – Simi trailed them with 14.3%, Savage Soldiers – Tiwa Savage with 8% and Outsiders – Burna Boy with 7.2%.
