In what was widely reported as the biggest endorsement deal in Africa at the time, Wizkid‘s N120m deal with telco company, Globacom lasted for just 16 months before both parties went their separate ways.

And as Wizkid announced his departure from the telco company, dancehall star Timaya confirmed his new deal with GLO.
Timaya was one of the many stars reportedly dumped by MTN back in June 2015.
He later granted an interview however, saying he refused to renew his deal with MTN because, ‘Every year, I release a hit song and I feel if we are to renew a contract, we have to revisit the terms and conditions. Not that we would do the same thing as the last time or do it out of pity.‘

With this, Timaya obviously got a better deal with GLO before putting pen to paper.
