10 years ago today, Wizkid announced and released his hit single Ojuelgba and his sophomore album Ayo.
The album released under his former label Empire Mates Entertainment went on to be a landmark in Wiz’s career and a stepping stone into the new chapter of his journey in life and music.

The album which features 19 tracks and consists of hits from top to bottom is widely regarded as one of the best albums in Nigerian music history and holds a special place in the hearts of many till today.
Ojuelegba was very pivotal in the Afrobeats to the world movement, as the remix which featured Skepta and Drake took the song to another level and opened the door to an international market for the genre.
Since then, Afrobeats acts have gone on to score multiple international hits with and without the influence of foreign acts.

To date, not many albums have had as many hits in one body of work as Ayo managed to have. The album is considered by many to be a landmark in the history and development of the genre.
A lot of fans and media houses took to social media to celebrate the album being 10 years old, with streaming giants Spotify launching a campaign in honor of the 10th anniversary celebration of the project.
The album won the best R&B/Pop album of the year at the Headies and went on to be the album to stay the longest at the number one spot on iTunes.
While fans were celebrating the album and reminiscing on their favourite songs, Wizkid broke the internet by announcing a new record off his forthcoming Morayo album.
The record titled Piece Of My Heart which features Brent Faiyaz is a record with heavy Carribean, R&B, Afro-Pop and Dancehall influences.

Morayo which is expected to be released later in the year seems to house Wizkid in his R&B home.
Music previewed off it sounded like fresh evening air. Fans have been desperately begging for the album for months, and it seems like Wiz is finally ready to put them out of their misery.
