Veteran Nollywood filmmaker, Zeb Ejiro, popularly referred to as the ‘Sheikh of Nollywood’ has taken a huge swipe at the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Attahiru Jega, labelling him a cheat and a traitor.
Praise has come for Jega from several quarters – especially regarding his handled of former Minister of the Niger-Delta and PDP delegate, Godsday Orubebe‘s attempt to disrupt the results collation exercise in Abuja. Zeb, however, sees things differently.
You may recall that the Nigerian film industry, better known as Nollywood, was fully in support of the re-election bid of Goodluck Jonathan, with virtually every industry player lending their voice and publicly campaigning for the incumbent.
The filmmaker took to social media to post a picture of Jega with the caption: ‘The face of a traitor. He took advantage of GEJ’s sincerity to rig the election in favour of his brother, but our time shall come.’ His post duly attracted a lot of attention, with most people urging him to embrace the change and look beyond his obvious bias.
Zeb has since deleted the controversial post.
