Hollywood actor, Jamie Foxx, stated in a recent interview that he did not want to work with Kanye West on their 2003 collaboration, ‘Slow Jamz’.
According to Foxx, he felt the song – which also had Twista on it – was going to be a flop at time as Kanye was largely unknown.
The Chicago rapper was also just recovering from an accident in which he injured his jaw.
However, Foxx reluctantly agreed to add his vocals to the song because, in his opinion, the way Kanye wanted it done, it would never peak.
As it turned out, ‘Slow Jamz’ peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a week on February 10, 2004.
As a result, it became Twista’s, Kanye’s and Foxx’s first number one single and was used as the lead single off Twista’s Kamikaze album and as the second single of Kanye’s album, The College Dropout.
