Mel B of the ’90s pop group Spice Girls has filed for divorce from her husband of 10 years, film producer Stephen Belafonte.
Scary Spice, as she was known in her singing days, filed for the dissolution of the decade-long marriage, stating irreconcilable difference.
The couple had been estranged for a while and American gossip site, TMZ, obtained court reports which revealed that couple had officially separated in December 2016.
Mel B had divorced from her first husband in 2000 and has one daughter from that marriage. She also has another daughter with comedy icon Eddy Murphy with whom she had a protracted legal battle when he claimed he was not the father of the baby. Eventually, a DNA test proved that he was indeed.
She and Belafonte have a daughter between them and she seeks for joint custody in the divorce papers.
