The Presidency has hugely been criticised since the 2014 National Honours List was released last week, with many questioning the exclusion of Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh from the list, but the President’s special assistant has made an effort to offer some explanation.
People felt that Adadevoh, who lost her life to Ebola in the process of taking measures to contain the spread of the virus, should have been included on the list because of her selfless acts.
Dr Doyin Okupe, Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to President Goodluck Jonathan, revealed reasons for the non-inclusion via his Twitter account, stating that the national honours are not given posthumously.
