The Maltina Dance All season 5 kicked off on Sunday, September 4, 2011 and a total of 15 families which were selected from across the country headed straight to the Matlina Dance Academy (MDA) boot camp.
The different families then went through a series of intense and gruelling exercise sessions over a period of time under the supervision of professional dance instructors. The 15 families were streamlined to 10 by giving each family a chance to vie for a spot.
Judges Janell Burgess, Michael Adegoke and Muyiwa Oshinaike didn’t find it easy trying to pick the final 10 but finally came through with a decision. The lucky 10 are the Ekubo, Efe, Edoho, Ngwu, Chidi, Anibogu, Utogo, Dare, Adekpe and Owolabi families.
The 10 families went back to the academy and were subsequently introduced to contemporary Nigerian and Salsa dance styles.
Winners of the reality show will walk away with N5m plus an S.U.V. First runners up will win one million Naira while second runners up will win 500,000 Naira.
The 2009 edition saw the Ibiam family emerge as winners while the Adejo family won in 2010.
The grand finale will take place on Saturday, September 24, 2011.
Now in its fifth year, the dance reality TV show is compeered by Kemi Adetiba.

It had been fantastic moment watching the program and i wish something like that should be org anise sometime to keep some people’s purls together. It was good time watching my awesome presenter then if i have some pics with you we could make nice posture but funny enough it just watching on my side and good riddance. Any best family can go on win the show because they are all good but need close analysis from judges.

i really love d the ekubo’s family because they ve shown creativity, skill, and synchrony, nevertheles the dare family are so daring, they ve got the skill, energy and unique charisma, from the elimination process the ngwu family and the owolabi’s family are the best improved family whilre the itogo’s family are teriffic and awesome

Ekubo’s family are so great. They all danced the same step being given; no mata how hard it was.even the mum. Especially da baby of d house. I love dat family because of dat little girl.
