On September 2, 2014, Seun Oni otherwise known as ‘Saeon’ was a year older, she used the opportunity to drop a new single as well titled ‘Dogado.’
But the issue of her reportedly crashed relationship with Big Brother Africa winner, Uti Nwachukwu has not only surfaced but seemingly dominated what should be her birthday celebration.
So the question really is, did all these happen yesterday as mere co-incidence? Or are they all part of a deliberate publicity stunt to drive traffic to her new single? Did Saeon and Uti really date?
News of the alleged romance between the two began almost a year ago, it was widely reported that they began dating two years back when they met on the set of the video for Saeon’s song titled ‘Boogie down’ in 2012.
Since news of their affair broke, they have both been seen stepping out together at various events and have both graced the covers of a couple of celebrity magazines, but in separate interviews, they have both denied having an affair together, until recently when they began to open up on their relationship.
First, it was Uti who duirng an interview with Encomium Weekly who said: ‘We don’t know how it came to the knowledge of the public. Seaon likes her privacy just like me, too, She is hard working, focused and understanding, I care about her heart, not her tribe.’
A few weeks back, Seaon, who was unveiled as the first act signed under Baseline Music, spoke about Uti, telling journalists that ‘He’s an amazing person, very dedicated to work. We have been working for years, and we are still working together’, however declining to comment on the real status of their relationship.
In the recent report by Encomium, the media has been blamed for the untimely crash of the relationship between Seaon and Uti as a source revealed to the magazine that ‘Uti was not happy about the revelation but Saeon did nothing wrong. She was even tactical about it. She didn’t want to hurt Uti by telling the public that they’ve broken up.’
When asked what could have caused their break up, the source said ‘It could be you guys, I mean the media. That’s the only thing I can say. I think Uti and Saeon should just take a bold step and tell the whole world why their relationship collapsed.’
At the moment, Saeon is concentrating on growing her career, especially with her new deal with Baseline music said to be worth millions of Naira, her songs like ‘Boogie down’ remix featuring Wizkid and ‘Awada erekere’ are currently enjoying a lot of airplay while Uti is concentrating on his new job as the host of TV show, Star The Winner Is.
