Theo Walcott opened scoring in the 33rd minute with a powerful strike from a Mesut Ozil pass. In form striker, Olivier Giroud doubled the lead a few seconds to half time after converting yet another pass from Ozil who was at one of his bests on the night.
The game was looking like it will end 2-0 until Yaya Toure pulled one back barely 8 minutes to the full time.
Ozil, who was named ‘Man of the Match’, has now completed his 15th assist in 17 games for the Arsene Wenger-led side this season.
Arsenal displaced Man City in the 2nd position sitting two points behind league leaders, Leicester.
