Ahead of World Sickle Cell day on Friday, June 19, 2014, film maker, Tunde Kelani has released the trailer for the his new movie, Dazzling Mirage.
Kelani says the movie is his contribution towards enlightening the public on matters relating to genotype and says he hopes that couples would pay attention to its importance.
The movie is an adaptation of the book, Dazzling Mirage written by Yinka Egbokhare. It tells the story of a young sickle cell sufferer who struggles to overcome social stigma and achieve career success, marriage and motherhood.
The cast includes Taiwo Ajayi Lycett, Bimbo Manuel, Carol King, Lala Akindoju, Kunle Afolayan, Seun Akindele, Caroline King, Yomi Fash Lanso and Khabirat Kafidipe.
It will be released in a matter of weeks, Kelani tells NET.
SYNOPSIS
A talented, beautiful young sickle-cell sufferer overcomes social stigma, prejudice and her own low self-esteem, to achieve career success, marriage and motherhood.
