After sealing Manchester United’s 20th league title, Van Persie will have a new number next season.
The Flying Dutchman, whose current number is 20 which he specifically chose because of the meaning behind the number, is expected to wear the number 9 jersey for the Red Devils.
The last player to wear that number for Man Utd was Dimitar Berbatov who is now plying his trade with Fulham.
Before him the number 9 jersey belonged to the injury prone French striker Louis Saha. Other players who have worn the number 9 jersey for United are Mc Clair and Andy Cole.
