Following the finale of Big Brother Hotshots on Sunday, December 7, 2014 which saw Idris Sultan from Tanzania emerge winner, a fierce online battle has since ensued between nationals of Nigeria, Tanzania and other parts of the African continent.
Some Nigerians feel cheated because one of the two Nigerian representatives in this year’s edition of Big Brother Africa, Tayo Faniran got to the finals but didn’t win eventually. Others, however, feel the game was fair enough because Nigerians have already won the reality show a number of times in the past.
In a bid to make peace and quell the bitter tension, Uti Nwachukwu who won the 5th edition of the Big Brother Africa, has taken to Twitter to calm frayed nerves with words of peace, saying: ‘Insults will not change the past or better the future. It only makes us look barbaric. Start to spread love regardless of all situations.’
