Valentine’s day is around the corner. Hey, don’t be thinking too much.
Asides from the hot weather and recession, we have a few ideas on what to do with yourself on February 14.
And it doesn’t require a lot of money.
Well, what is the grand idea? Watch a lot of movies! Nollywood movies mostly, of course.
Here is a list of movies you should get familiar with at the cinema come Valentine’s Day. With or without bae.
The Wedding Party

Wait, you haven’t seen the highest selling Nollywood movie at the box office ever?
You’re not joking? Okay. Mistakes do happen.
Now that you are ready to correct your mistakes, The Wedding Party is definitely a great one to watch come Val’s Day.
And you can do that with or without your boo. Because it’s hilarious and laughing alone isn’t such a bad thing.
We think.
King Invincible
Bringing the Beauty and the Beast flavour to the big screen in Nigeria, King Invincible is a recommended movie for Valentine’s Day, for obvious reasons.
So if you’re up for some mushy stuff, you know what ticket you should be buying at the box office on the day.
Hire a Man
Sprinkled with the perfect formula for a romcom, Hire a Man is a great idea for the Val’s Day.
What’s more, it features our favourite hot stuff, literally; Enyinna Nwigwe.
United Kingdom
Starring Selma star, David Oyelowo and Gone Girl actress, Rosamund Pike, United Kingdom is a yes for Valentine’s Day.
The story of a white woman falling in love and marrying a black man in the 1940s will be intriguing. More so when you realize it is a true life (love) story.
Fifty Shades Darker
Of course, this is going to be on this list.
If you’ve ever heard of the Fifty Shades franchise then you know it is definitely a lover’s day kinda movie.
And hey, who knows, some of the steamy scenes may inspire you and bae to try stuff out.
Hopefully, not the ones where you tie each other up.
Which is not a bad thing… as long as y’all don’t lose the key.
