Tributes pour in for Michael Jackson who would’ve been 58 today

Michael Jackson would’ve been 58 years old today, August 29, 2016.

The pop icon died of acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication after suffering cardiac arrest on June 25, 2009.

Lovers across the world however took time out to mark what would’ve been MJ’s 58th birthday.

His daughter, Paris Jackson, who was 11 when he died at the age of 50, paid tribute to her famous father by getting the artwork for his 1989 multi-platinum album Dangerous tattooed on her arm in May, a month after turning 18, with the tattoo comprising his eyes surrounded by an intricate frame of animals, including a monkey, elephant and peacock.

“The meaning of life is contained in every single expression of life. It is present in the infinity of forms and phenomena that exist in all of creation.” Never forget your roots, and always be proud of where you came from.

Meanwhile at the 2016 MTV VMAs held on Sunday at Madison Square Garden, New York, his legacy was kept alive with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award presented at the ceremony. 

Rihanna was presented the award this year, with her rumoured boyfriend, Drake doing her the honour of handing her the award.
