Reality shows are my almost-first love. So, imagine my joy when i realised Omotola, actress, mother, singer and media darling, had a reality show series set to launch!
I was excited about the launch itself. So excited that i got there at 5pm (though the invite said 4pm).
Cue my Ten 10s
10. The invite said 4pm (some said 5pm) but i guess for a week day, 5pm meant 7pm. I’m not complaining… Had the dessert table to myself for a while!
9. I loved the ‘networking’ feel of the event. The fact that we had to stand forced us all to truly mingle and it was great to be able to work the room, take pictures, do some interviews, and network. It was just truly a fun event. Kudos!
8. Who else goes for events like these and looks around for the goody bag? Like, o great! Nice ambience! Great food! Now where are the goody bags????? I guess someone saw me looking real hard for one because they promised to send me mine! Still waiting…
7. The only performer on the night was the amazing Bez. He had his live band set up and he entertained us with songs from his debut album. And once he was done, he had to take pictures with fans for about thirty minutes. I timed it. I was on the line. *sigh*
6. Speaking of which…. I do not know why i missed it for so long but MY GOODNESS! Djs get ALL the love!
I was able to observe this fully at the event, and then i pieced it together with the help of another dj friend of mine.
See, Djs sort of make the party. If they play crappy music, you feel crappy. If they are great, you feel great. Now a dj is just there doing his thang but apparently, this is like a magnet for ladies or so because they just troop to where he is and dance a little, flirt a lot, smile, laugh and then move on.
It would be hard to date a DJ though. What do you guys think?
5. The launch was well attended though. Let me see, who was there? (Easier to say who wasn’t but….). I saw Chris Attoh, Denrele, Chidynma, Ebuka, Gbenro, Yvonne, Lynxxx, IK, Emem Ema, Mannie, Uti, Rukky Sanda and more. BUT…
4. …Guess who i did NOT see? Nollywood!
La La La
3. But back to the people i did see and another epiphany I had- Television is for beautiful people!
And i say this as someone who lives her life sitting in front of one daily. I was so intimidated at the launch because it was beautiful and handsome faces everywhere i turned. Like, wow.
2. And speaking of beautiful people… I do not know how Omotola does it, but she needs to bottle her secret and make millions. She looks so good. In real life, and on screen. We were treated to a preview of the show ‘Omotola; The Real Me’ and it is definitely going to be watched. There were parts that felt ‘scripted’ or as i would rather call it ‘re-created’ (like the assistant parts) but on the whole, it was interesting!
1. And now that Omotola has taken the plunge and gone right ahead to give an insight into the real her, who else do i think should get a show?
Toolz! Tonto! Banky W! Sasha!
I could go on…..

Lol! I liked how Tosyn said ‘scripted’ or ‘re-created’.. You don’t have to criticize badly like one review I read like that.
