1. Iretiola Doyle (The Wedding Party, Dinner, The Arbitration)

Iretiola Doyle tops the list of the top 5 Nollywood box office actresses. The star appeared in three out of the highest box office earnings in Nollywood in 2016.

The total earnings of all the movies Doyle appeared in is N242m.

2. Adesua Etomi (Couple of Days, The Wedding Party, The Arbitration)

With leading roles in The Wedding Party and The Arbitration, Adesua Etomi comes in at number two on this list. With a total of N240m made in the movies she appeared in, Adesua is undoubtedly becoming a big box office star.

3. Somkele Iyamah (The Arbitration, The Wedding Party, 93 Days)

Coming in closely at number three is Somkele Iyamah. Starring in three movies that grossed in N239.9m at the box office, Somkele Iyamah may just be the most bankable actress in Nollywood this year.

4. Funke Akindele (A Trip to Jamaica)

In 2016, Funke Akindele appeared in A Trip To Jamaica. A film which held the position of the highest grossing Nollywood movie in a box office for weeks.

A Trip To Jamaica grossed in N178.5m at the box office, making Funke Akindele one of the top box office actresses of 2016.

5. Omoni Oboli (Wives On Strike, It’s Her Day)

Omoni Oboli comes in 5th place on the list of top 5 Nollywood box office actresses in 2016. With appearances in Wives On Strike, which grossed in N67M and It’s Her Day, which grossed in N37M, the movies she featured in grossed in a total of N104m at the box office.
