Self-styled Akpako master and Ginjah king, Gabriel Oche Amanyi famously called Terry G, is a tear older today. The Benue State-born act was born on March 17, a day which is also his mother’s birthday.
His mother was a zonal unit choir coordinator in one of the old Pentecostal churches in Nigeria and she exposed him to music as a child, all of which influenced his development as a notable music act and producer.
At the age 5, he started playing the drums and later began to play the piano and bass guitar, which he continued for many years before he finally took the bold step of pursuing a professional career in music at the age of 16.
Born in 1986, 29-year old Terry began his professional career as a protege of former Plantashun Boiz member, Faze. He was on course to get a deal from Faze’s label, Independent Entertainment but later opted for a deal with Bluemoon Entertainment and has evolved into the Terry G the world knows today.
