Timini Egbuson, the top Nollywood star and current toast of the movie industry, is celebrating his NET Honours ‘Most Popular Actor’ win by thanking fans.
The actor beat other top major contenders – Efa Iwara, Alexx Ekubo, Jidekene Achufusi (Swanky JKA), and Richard Mofe Damijo. Last year, Timini was also nominated in this category, but he lost out to Yul Edochie. After appearing in films like Fate of Alakada, Introducing The Kujus, Omo Ghetto The Saga, and Tanwa Savage over the last year, it’s no surprise that he won this category.
The actor shared the news across all his social media platforms, saying, “because you (fans) continually choose to #WatchTimini”. He also hyped himself up a little, adding, “Most popular, bag heavy, best actor AMVCA, KPK. Thank you Netng”.
The award is Timini’s third major one since he began his career, and colleagues and fans were ecstatic for him.
Popular actor and fellow nominee for the ‘Most Popular Actor’ award, Efa Iwara, wished him “Congratulations, bro!” Other stars – Abimbola Craig, Efe Irele, Sophie Alakija, Linda Osifo, Bolanle Ninalowo, Stan Nze, Tope Tedela, Waje, Toni Tones and more congratulated him.
His older sister, the award-winning actress, Dakore Akande-Egbuson, also shared that she was very proud of him. She said, “Congratulations, bro, 🚀🚀🚀 super proud of you! ❤️❤️❤️”.
Salamatu Oseni, one of his fans, said, “Who does it better? 😍😍 No one else but Bad boy T ❤️❤️.”
