Majek Fashek’s management has threatened to sue Timi Dakolo for N100m over copyright infringement of ‘Send Down the Rain’.
Dakolo has claimed he contacted Charles Novia who acted on behalf of the legendary Reggae musician before remaking the hit song in 2012.
His version however received criticism from Nigerian music lovers that branded him a THIEF!

But Majek’s manager, Uzoma Omenka insisted they are suing Timi Dakolo for using the all-time hit song without authorization.
‘We are not taking this case lightly. We are just awaiting the arrival of our solicitors from the U.S., and the UK then we will hit the courts,’ he told Vanguard.
The soul singer has never performed the song publicly since his version was released online over four years ago.

‘For crying out loud, this guy is making money from itunes and he did what he did because he thinks in Nigeria, anything goes.
‘If he can prove as he claimed that he paid for the use of the song and he can show concrete proof of it then he will go free, but if not, we will definitely meet in court.’
Meanwhile, Majek and Dakolo were joined by South Africa-based jazz act, Kunle Kuti at the 2015 Headies to perform ‘Send Down The Rain’.
