Germany and Bayern Munich striker, Thomas Muller has said it would be boring for Real Madrid and Portugal forward, Cristiano Ronaldo to be named the 2014 World Player of the Year.
Speaking on the upcoming FIFA accolade which has been shared between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for the past six years, the footballer who feels it’s time for a change told the Mirror:
‘If it were to happen that Cristiano Ronaldo wins, then it would be almost boring,’
He also felt that other German players who would have deserve the award too.
‘There were a few other players in the Germany squad who would have deserved it too.’
The final three nominees for the prestigious award include Lionel Messi who has won the award four times, Cristiano Ronaldo who has also won the award twice and Manuel Neuer who is yet to win the award.
The winner will be announced at a glittering gala on Monday, January 12, 2014.
