Media personality and comedian Tee A delivered a heartfelt eulogy for his close friend, the late Akiin Shuga, who passed away on October 30, 2025, in Brunswick, Canada, at the age of 50.
Tee A expressed his profound grief and honoured his long-time friend during the tribute held to celebrate Akiin Shuga’s life at the Five Palms event centre in Oniru, Lagos.
“This was not what we envisioned or planned. We’ve been through so much and still have so much to navigate, but despite everything, we remain eternally grateful to God,” Tee A shared.
He also acknowledged the significant challenges Akiin Shuga had faced and overcome.
“You fought and won so many battles, I don’t even know where to begin—whether health-related or professional. Even when detractors tried to play God, our Almighty God always came through for you.”
Akiin Shuga and Tee A’s friendship dated back to the 1990s and strengthened over the decades.
The event saw attendance from various notable guests, including entertainment entrepreneur Darey Art Alade, Tee A, Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Idris Olorunnimbe, Mrs Rianat Jibike Onigbanjo (Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation), media executive Chris Ihidero, and Ayeni Adekunle, founder of BHM.
