Lagosians who are resident or who have businesses on the Island will have to find alternative routes to the mainland as the Lagos State Government has announced a scheduled temporary closure of the Third Mainland Bridge.
Lagos state Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Ade Akinsanya disclosed this to newsmen stating that the exercise which takes effect from midnight of August 23 till midnight of August 26 is to allow for investigative maintenance test to allow for proper repairs in the near future.
Third mainland bridge which experiences high daily traffic is 11.8km long and was open for use in 1990 by the then military government.
