The music session at the Nigerian Entertainment Conference with the topic ‘Are Record Labels Endangered Species’ featured as speaker, Founder/CEO of Kennis Music, Keke Ogungbe.
The music label boss and ace broadcaster stressed the need for industry experts to search inward for solutions to the industry’s challenges.
‘We don’t need someone from overseas to come and open record companies for us. If at all they do come, they will meet our own labels at the forefront’.
While also referring to the ‘entertainment industry as the blood of any nation’, Ogungbe frowned at the idea of maintaining only one collecting society in Nigeria.
‘There should not be pirates in the name of collective society’, he stressed.
