Tunde Ednut, one of Nigeria’s most popular bloggers, has boasted that no one can operate Instagram as he does. He made the statement after clinching the award for Most Searched Media Personality at the NET Honours People’s Choice Awards, one of the world’s most prestigious audience data-based awards.
The Atlanta-based promoter, whose Instagram page is fondly referred to as “The Shade Room of Africa”, emerged winner in a keenly-contested category that included some of Nigeria’s media faves. They include popular OAP Toke Makinwa, relationship blogger Joro Olumofin and talk show host Nancy Isime.
Reacting to Netng’s announcement, Tunde Ednut took to his Instagram page to thank his followers for their frequent engagement on his social media feeds, and also throw some shade at his doubters.
“No joke! I was out of Instagram, came back stronger. Haters, na una know wetin dey do una ooo. We, Team TundeEdnut, keep winning. Ain’t you tired? The king is here to stay”, he wrote.
His followers were quick to hand in their congratulatory messages, all having nice things to say about the king of giveaways.
“This is too good to be true…congratulations”, Adeola Odufoye Leigh, a music instructor and pianist, tweeted.
Nigerian actor and media influencer Benson Okonkwo also reacted to the announcement, congratulating Tunde Ednut on Netng’s Instagram page.
“This is big. Congratulations, Tunde Ednut.”
Rebecca Olatunji, CEO of CODAH (Collaboration of the Deaf and Hearing Enterprise), celebrated the win by commenting on Netng’s Instagram page.
“No doubt about this. Tunde Ednut got the crown, well-deserved.”
Nigerian footballer, Victor Osimhen, extended his congratulations in response to Tunde Ednut’s Instagram post.
“You be king, I swear down.”
Other celebrities and influencers like Obi Cubana, Nedu, Slimcase and Eva Alordiah also typed congratulatory messages on Tunde Ednut’s Instagram post.
