Women have for a long time been regarded as the sole frontiers of Nigerian fashion, with the fantastic colour combinations and daring cuts they parade daily.
These days however, things are gradually changing as the male folks seem to have realized that the present century demands more than responsibility and macho-pride from them. The ’21st Century Dude’ must have a good dress sense and a decent taste for fitting accessories.
Forget austerity measures and spoil yourself a little because whatever little effort made to accessorize your outfits puts a classy touch to the outfit.
Accessories have of course, gone gone beyond wrist watches and belts. Time has stretched the limits of fashion – must have accesories now include items such as rings, mufflers, hats, caps, sun shades, ear studs, pocket squares, cufflinks, bangles, necklace and even handsets.
Perhaps, if you relax a little, you would observe that the functionality of these accessories exceeds fashion.
While the wrist watch informs you of time, the belt holds your trousers in place, the cufflinks puts your sleeves in order and the sun shade protects your eyes from rays. The hats and caps prevent your scalp from getting hurt, the muffler (to be used depending on temperatures where you live) helps keep cold away while the pocket square draws attention to your blazer (or in cases of emergency).
Depending on what your style is, the bracelet, ear stud and ring could give you a perfect cool blend and project your uber-macho sexiness especially to attract the females. Final conclusion then remains that every 21st century dude religiously pays attention to his accessories as much as he does his clothes and shoes.
