I’m guessing when you first watched the new Psquare video ‘Testimony‘ (Taste the money), you felt some type of nostalgia? Don’t be surprised, a whole lot of people felt the same way.
Many fans have said that the video reminds them a lot of the Pop duo’s 2008 video ‘Do me’ and that the twins (who recently bounced back from an alleged internal fight) should have done better with the visuals.
Both videos were shot in South Africa and directed by elder brother/manager Jude ‘Engees’ Okoye.
Despite what you might think about the videos being similar, they actually aren’t.
Other than the three-minute plus video having a similar, or better yet, repeated scene, ‘Testimony’ and ‘Do me’ are different.

While all the scenes in ‘Do me’ were shot indoors, ‘Testimony’ has both in and outdoor scenes (in the garden, at a swimming pool and on the veranda).
Also, let’s face it, Psquare have shot quite a number of videos (and we’re talking several here); If one or two look alike or have the same feel, it’s acceptable. Poetic License, they call it?
Come to think of it, we can all agree that the likes of Diddy, Jay Z and even Snoop Dogg all have been hit with this sort of creative drift before.
One can however admit that unlike their previous videos, ‘Testimony’ is a bit lacklustre. Better luck next time?
