Tems has been crowned the Best Recording of the Year at the 17th Headies Awards for her hit song “Burning”.
The competition in the category was fierce, with standout tracks from some of the industry’s biggest names. Seyi Vibez’s “Different Patterns”, Burna Boy’s “Higher”, the heartfelt collaboration between Ayra Starr and Giveon on “Last Heartbreak Song”, and the smooth pairing of Sarz and Lojay on “Billions” were all nominated for the coveted title but the 2x Grammy winner edged them out for the award.
Tems’ win solidifies her position as one of the most influential artists of the year, and “Burning” which was a track in her 2024 album, ‘Born in the Wild’, stands as yet another testament to her remarkable talent and ability to craft songs that resonate deeply with audiences around the world.
