All hail Taylor Swift: the US singer-songwriter last night (May 19) dominated the Billboard Music Awards, walking away with eight awards!
Winning eight out of a possible 11 including top artist and top Billboard 200 album for ‘Red’, Swift told the crowd ‘You are the longest and best relationship I ever had’.
Rihanna who was absent won four, Justin Bieber won three, so did pop group One Direction.
Nicki Minaj won her first ever Billboard awards, two for Top Rap Artiste and Top Rap Album. 54-year-old Madonna also got three awards but that didn’t stun the crowd as much as her raunchy outfit.
Performances came from Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Will.i.am, Chris Brown, Bruno Mars, Selena Gomez, Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera and Miguel who mistakenly fell on a fan’s head.
The event held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and was hosted by comedian Tracy Morgan.
