The creative community just got a massive shot in the arm! Terra Academy for the Arts (TAFTA) successfully hosted the inaugural edition of its alumni homecoming, ÀRÌRÀ 2025, a vibrant celebration of talent, community, and a major new initiative aimed at empowering young women in the creative sector.

Held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the iconic Terra Kulture in Lagos, ÀRÌRÀ brought together TAFTA alumni from Lagos, Ogun, and Kano for an evening that blended cultural experiences with powerful networking.
The event was a dynamic showcase of the academy’s impact, featuring lively inter-cohort competitions and a standout spoken word performance by alumna Divinefavour Udechukwu, whose delivery captured the essence of artistic resilience.
The biggest news of the night was the official launch of the TAFTA Young Women Advisory Group (YWAG). This initiative is designed to provide mentorship, leadership training, and structured support, aiming to elevate young women within the academy’s network and help them thrive in the competitive creative marketplace. The launch was met with enthusiastic support from alumni, who hailed it as a crucial step toward building a more inclusive and empowered industry.

JO Umoibom, Academy Lead at TAFTA, emphasised the academy’s mission beyond the classroom. “ÀRÌRÀ has become a reminder of why TAFTA exists. We are not only training young creatives, but we are also building a community that continues to support one another long after the classroom experience. The energy, creativity and camaraderie we witnessed tonight reflect the strength of this network and the potential it holds for the future.”
With over 57,000 young creatives trained across its three locations and more than 32,000 already employed in various creative fields, TAFTA continues to cement its position as a powerhouse for skills development. Chinedu Isagbah, Programs Manager for Lagos State, reinforced this sentiment, noting that “The creative economy grows stronger when communities stay connected.”
ÀRÌRÀ 2025 served as a powerful reaffirmation of TAFTA’s commitment to sustaining a vibrant and supportive alumni network, proving that the future of Nigerian entertainment is not just about talent, but about a connected, empowered community.
