Details about her move have not been disclosed yet but the club’s head coach, Matt Beard confirmed the signing on Friday, January 23, 2015 saying: ‘We beat a number of top American and European clubs to Asisat’s signature, ‘Asisat is one of the best young players in the world.
‘I watched her at the Under-20 World Cup, where she was sensational, and we had early dialogue with her about coming to Liverpool. There’s been plenty of other interest in her in the last few months, but she chose to join us and I’m absolutely delighted.’
The excited female young star also expressed joy after sealing the move to a professional club.
‘Since I began my football career I have always dreamt of being a professional footballer, so to be able to join the reigning Women’s Super League champions is absolutely fantastic.’
Asisat Oshoala started her football career in 2009 with FC Robo and moved to Rivers Angels after a few seasons.
She was an important member of the Super Falcons team that triumphed at 2014 African Women’s Championship in impressive terms and was also one of the bright stars at the 2014 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
She was crowned Female African Player of Year as well as Youth Player of the Year at the recently held Glo-CAF Awards.
