The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be facing the Swallows of Guinea in their second Group B game in the ongoing AFCON tournament tomorrow, June 26 after winning Burundi 1-0 in their opening game.
Nigeria is currently leading the group with three points while Guinea and Madagascar both have one point each after drawing their first match. Burundi is currently the last team in the group with 0 point after losing to Nigeria.
The match which will hold at the Alexandria Stadium by 3:30pm tomorrow will see Nigeria playing to consolidate its lead on the group while Guinea will be fighting to add three more points to improve its chance of progressing in the tournament.
Guinea and Nigeria have met on several occasions in the past and among the 8 times they’ve played against each other, Nigeria has managed to win two of the games while Guinea won three. The rest were draw with the last game ending in a goalless tie.
But with the new formation of the Nigerian team, with Coach Gernot Rohr calling the shots across a list of vibrant players like Samuel Chukwueze, Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina among others, the game is most likely going to favour Nigeria.
