Sunny Neji recently made the day of a Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) graduate when he presented him with an iPhone 5 for winning a birthday poem competition organised by the musician.
Wole Fagbenro’s entry was judged the best out of hundreds submitted via Facebook.
The poem reads:
‘Many have come claiming to be Mr. Fantastic, but nothing ever rivals to a classic. Through the changes, when many remained static you showed great consistency and went unchained.
Oruka’ made everyone wanna get married every Saturday and even the already wedded wanna do it again’.
Music they say is the food for the soul and if that is true, you‘re a nutritionist for the soul.
But just when many thought that was the A game, you went off the hook…a mix blend for the elderly and the youth. How many sad face your sound has comforted remains unknown how broken hearts your melody has mended remains unshown but it is my wish that the true worth of your value be bestowed (on you).
So as you celebrate another year today….. I pray the Almighty bless your irrespective of season and his mercies be timeless just as you have been’.
