First of all, Soundcity needs to take a back seat please, and stop embarrassing themselves.
I’m glad Psquare spoke up, because this is the same crap they are pulling with all the other artists but they all don’t have the guts to speak up for fear of their videos not being aired.
All accusing fingers point to almighty Olamide of Soundcity.
Soundcity is a TV station that is loved and respected but it’s degenerating to something else because artists are being asked to pay X amount of money before their videos get airplay.
Even the struggling and upcoming artistes are billed as high as N500,000 just to get a spot on their ‘FRESH‘ segment and it probably won’t air again after one time.
A lot of gist has been filtering the streets about this Olamide’s arrogance and it’s appalling. What is most disappointing is the CEO of the company Mr Tajudeen Adepetu for turning a blind eye and deaf ears to people’s complaints about this Olamide’s act.
It’s simply means that Tajudeen Adepetu too is getting kickbacks off Olamide’s charges.
Mr Taju, you are highly respected in the industry (from the days of FAMILY CIRCLE) please don’t allow one hungry guy masking himself as the GM run your company down
Still beats me. This so called event wasn’t free or was it? And even if??? Why shouldn’t they (PSQUARE) ask for payment?? Truth is, it wasn’t noticed that Soundcity wasn’t playing their videos because it won’t affect Psquare’s career in anyway. I’m not an artiste, neither am I a producer or anything related to that but I can confidently say that I’m well aware of this shameful act by Olamide of Soundcity
A lot of respect to Psquare for speaking up. Hopefully, other artists too will man up and shun that TV station and leave them to play only international videos.
Maybe, just maybe they will ask Meek mill or Rozay to pay before airing their videos (like they give a flying fart).

I see the net.ng has freely allowed someone who app entry has a bone to pick with either ‘Olamide’ or Soundcity a platform to make baseless accusations. Journalism 101 don’t allow unsubstantiated articles even if their opinions on your platform. There are a lot of angry people out there and they will use you to vent their anger if you allow them. Count yourself lucky if you don’t get a libel hammer!
God bless u for this open letter, u spoke my mind, mr tajudeen adepetu is a man i respected a lot but his response to some complain u made sometimes bothers me a lot, i complain same thing about Ghana country director of soundcity, but no response until soundcity is total dead in Ghana, the guy used soundcity name to scam a lot of artistes in Ghana that no one has respect or regards for soundcity anymore even in Nigeria , some artiste like iyanya, MI, iceprince, and other came to perform for free in ghana in the name of charity but the guy charges a lot of money on their behave to perform and and promise most of Ghana artistes a collabo with nigeria artistes but nothing in the end, same thing happen between soundcity and psquare. Honestly to my understanding soundicty promotes and projected psquare and host of others for free in return to perform for soundcity for when they have any events but so called almighty soundcity staff (not only olamide) will charged artistes very high to promote them unknowingly to Mr TAjudeen Adepetu. I think is the right time for Mr Taju to let some people go before they spoil the good name and what he has worked so hard for in all this year. thanks
I think its high time for media houses to start appreciating our artiste and pay royalties for there content been aired. Some artiste are broke now or cant continue there careers because they do there business like normal artiste not the ones who go around begging for money,fucking show promoters+governors + women in powers,doing funny deals or leaving a hyped life. Soundcity is not the only one in the game of this but other media houses are also involved,some even tell you to do there shows for free so that can promote your song/videos. I repeat not only Soundcity,even the so called raving media houses do the same thing.
Is it the one of highest bider gets the award or paddy for jungle promotion.
For Psquare,its nice that you guys are speaking out and helping other artiste to have a voice but you guys enjoyed the jolly ride so why now?
Do you people pay song writers,royalties to people who do stuff for you?
If yes then you have the right by 200% to stand on your grounds and believes.
Like i tell people we dont have a music industry yet in nigeria,we just have business men and women who are making money out peoples sweat,handwork and intellectual properties.
With all the money they are making you have still go out and hustle to pay them to play your song and video.
Hustle to get prepared for there free show and pay for there award again.
