The Reds captain who was supposed to make the appearance in the club’s last premier league game against West Ham United, was rested but achieved the landmark in the FA cup match against Bolton on Wednesday, February 4, 2015
The Reds legend wore a special boot which has the landmark number – ‘700’ – stitched to it.
Steven Gerrard became the third player in Liverpool history to make 700 appearances after Ian Callaghan’s 857 and Jamie Carragher’s 737.
The match against Bolton in a 2 -1 victory for Liverpool as they progress to the next stage.
