South African DJ, Cubique lost his best friend, Lerato Makhele, in a car accident while he was ‘dead asleep’ yesterday January 14.
‘He called me. 3 times, seeking help,’ Cubique said. ‘I was asleep. Dead asleep. I never sleep that much. He died. He called me for help yo, and I was fucking asleep! I’m so sorry bro.’
Thulani Cubique Mabena who is the CEO of Cubique Entertainment is traumatized following the loss of his best friend.

The deceased was Cubique’s manager and number one fan before the fatal car crash that claimed his life.

‘Last year this time he took me to a trip to Durban (a trip he financed) for my birthday. He did so much for me. He was my manager. Got me gigs, everywhere. He. Transported to most of my gigs without expecting anything from me. He accommodated me, from his homes to expensive hotels.’
Meanwhile,Lerato Makhele is the third close friend the South African based disc jockey has lost to car accidents in less than five months.
Cubique celebrated his 25th birthday on Thurdsay January 12, and he’s made plans to go on a birthday tour.
His unrestricted birthday celebration with fans and colleagues was scheduled to hold on January 19 at Dukuza Pub in Middelburg, but it’s yet to be disclosed if he will be canceling the gig to honour his late friend.
