I am Cait was shown on E! Entertainment Television on DStv channel 124 and GOtv channel 26.
The second season of the docu-series was pulled down after the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) ordered it off the air after multiple complaints from viewers.
Multichoice’s DSTV service broadcasts to the whole continent and critics are worried that this decision risks setting a precedent where a single country can effectively decide what TV viewers across the whole continent can watch.
The company said in a statement that it ‘recognises the importance of respecting the views of a number of its customers and all regulatory environments within which its service operates.
Caitlyn Jenner who used to be known as Bruce Jenner before her gender transition8 was reportedly paid $5 million for the new documentary series on E!
E! reportedly initially offered $2 million but were forced to up their offer as they feared losing the rights to the eight-part ‘I Am Cait’ series to another network.
Here are some of the complaints we culled online;
I Am Cait is the most boring thing on E! and it’s problematic but this sets a precedent. Africa’s largest cable company is transphobic.

I watched an episode of “I am Cait” where trannies were in tears saying they weren’t treated equally, I was as amused as I was irritated.
