Snoop Dogg was stopped by customs in Italy on Saturday, August 1 for carrying more cash across the border than the legal limit permits.
According to TIME, the rapper allegedly had $422k in cash on him while catching a flight at the Lamezia Terme airport in Calabria, Italy.
The legal limit for carrying cash undeclared across borders in the European Union is €10k which is about $11k and law enforcement agent said they took half of the cash under the country’s anti-money laundering code.
The money will be returned to Snoop pending the payment of fine and the rapper is scheduled to land in England today, Sunday August 2, 2015. The incident is coming a week after Snoop Dogg was arrested in Sweden on suspicion of drug use, an incident the American rapper described as racial profiling.
