Miracle in Cell No. 7 is a Turkish film that explores some societal issues. In this movie, a mentally challenged man (Memo) is separated from his beloved daughter (Ova) and faces execution for some trumped-up charges.
The movie is an adaptation of a 2013 South Korean movie and was produced by Saner Ayar and Sinan Turan. It features top-notch acting from Aras Bulut Iynemli who plays Memo and Nisa Sofiya Aksongur in her role as Ova. Aras Bulut Iynemli has been nominated for a Golden Palm Award (The Turkish version of the Oscars) for his flawless depiction of Memo.
Miracle in Cell No. 7 was released in October 2019, but with people discovering new movies while cooped up in quarantine, it has only become popular quite recently.
This movie has been hailed on social media for being a major tear-jerker. In fact, we asked our Instagram fans if the movie made them cry their eyes out, and 84% of them said yes. For the others, we’re sure they had to work really hard to hold the tears in.
