After months of anticipation, the Big Brother Naija: Lockdown reunion show is set to premiere on Thursday, June 17, 2021.
The show, which will be hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, will feature all 20 housemates from last year’s edition of Big Brother Naija, which had Laycon emerge as the winner. It would also set the tone for the sixth season of Africa’s biggest reality TV show, expected to premiere later in the year. Here are seven things fans should look forward to during the reunion:
- Cat Fights: During last season’s show, a number of the contestants went at each other’s throats, and even though it’s been nearly a year, some of the beefs remain unresolved. Expect the cold wars and catfights to continue.
- Shaking Tables: Ebuka was famous for shaking tables during the show with questions that put housemates on the spot, so expect him to be at his mischievous best during the reunion, keeping them on the edge of their toes.
- Fan Wars: Big Brother Naija fan bases have been known to fiercely rally in support of their faves. Elites won’t tolerate any Erica slander, and Laycon has his army of Icons by his corner, so there’s every chance that social media will erupt with violence during the reunion.
- Fashion Statements: Having found fame after the show, the former contestants would want to impress, and then again, no one would want to be a laughing stock on social media. So fans should be looking forward to seeing their faves put their best styles forward. Ebuka has always been a fashionista, so expect him to kill it, as always!
- Reconciliation: Not everybody will choose violence. Sometimes, there’ll be a little kissing and making up. Some of the former housemates would probably thrash out their issues, and become friends again. We all love happy endings, don’t we? Oh well, maybe not.
- New Drama: With all the table-shaking that will happen, each of the former housemates will surely react differently. There’s no way that new issues will not arise. The best part? Fans will get to see it all go down and they can immediately judge who they think is at fault. It’s going to be bloody.
- Love and War: A lot has happened since the end of the show, with rumours of some housemates hooking up, and everything ending in tears. At the reunion, fans will find out who had a crush on who, and what has been going down in the DMs. We can’t wait for all the tea!
